Experience With Im Curriculum

3rd, 4th and 5th grade teachers piloted the program last year, however, due to COVID and the district being virtual, they did not utilize the program to its full extent and many modifications were made. This is the first year that our 1st and 2nd grade teachers are using the program. Teachers were given the opportunity to participate in trainings however, the trainings were virtual and not effective.

Notes For Facilitator

Teachers are very upset with the new IM curriculum. They are used to implementing a math curriculum in flexible math groups and are not used to doing problem based math instruction. They are having difficulty fitting everything in and do not like that it is whole group based. They are also using the PowerPoints as their planning tool instead of the teacher edition.


Room Layout Request: Tables with 4 to 6 participants per table (preferred) or classroom style.


Technology: LCD projector with speakers, and WiFi, document camera helpful.


Supplies: Dry erase board & markers OR chart paper and markers, name tags/tents (plain copy paper is fine), post it notes, and highlighters (at tables).


Optional For 6-8 events: Scissors (1 pair per table), Patty paper.


Optional For K-5 events: 1-inch tiles.
